Where do I go junkin?

It’s a question I get asked often :). Everywhere is the easy answer…..thrift stores, antique stores, estate sales, flea markets, antique shows. Everywhere :)

But, if you know me, I love a good road trip! Illinois, Ohio and Indiana are closest to me, but even on vacation I’ll go junkin! For me it’s about seeing other junk. What I mean is: do they have the same things that I can get in my local area, is something more expensive or cheaper and how do they display.

Really nothing is better than new stores, malls or markets.

Before I head out on a junkin trip I research the towns I will be going through and then check on shops/markets/sales in the area.

Recently I went to an estate sale north of me and then hit all the estate sales to the other side of the state. I also discovered they were having an antique show that weekend. So every stop was a new place and a new treasure. It was so much fun and I found great treasures.

My preference is to also find things that not everyone else has. We all love fresh finds.

So, no real secrets about where I junk….but my favorite place to go junkin starts with a road trip <3
